I was in the middle of my doctorate program and also working. Both my kids were in school, my husband was very busy, life was happening, and it was extremely chaotic. One morning after dropping the kids off at school, I suddenly became aware of this voice in my head. It was incessant. It was either spewing judgement or spiraling down into worry wormholes or engaged in nonsensical chatter that had no purpose but to keep me off balance, this internal voice never stopped. It was toxic and kept me at a constant boiling point. I desperately needed some peace and quiet! “SHUT UP!” I screamed.
