Today’s again going to be a departure from our normal Request and Memory show. Today we’re going to do a trip report from my trip last month in June. This trip was over 4 days, the first three of which were in the evenings or before my convention in Orlando, and the 4th was with the whole family. So I’m going to break this trip report up into 3 consecutive episodes which I’ll release on 3 consecutive weeks. That’s right, instead of every other week, I’m going to put these out on a special weekly schedule. And today, we’re going to be continuing the trip report with day two at the Magic Kingdom, and day three at Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, since they were just evenings after my meetings were done. It’s good to be home. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my 15 days in Florida, but sleeping in hotels or beds, or just beds that aren’t your own can really wear on you after a while. But I’m back in Kentucky now and glad to be back with you recording from my studio. But the good part about a vacation in Florida is trips to our favorite place Walt Disney World. And I got to spend quite a bit of free time at the parks and I’ve got some great audio. But today isn’t about my recent trips but is about a time now lost. Wow, my trip is almost here. A week from the release of this podcast I’ll be packing up and heading to Orlando for my convention. That first week I’ll be tied up there, but like I said I hope to slip over to the parks in the evenings or before the convention begins. I have a friend who works for Disney and with his help, I hope to see some things at the parks. At the end of the convention, my wife and kids and extended family will arrive and we’re planning to do a day together at the Magic Kingdom. This should be a blast as we’ll have a couple of the group who have never been to Walt Disney World including two little ones under two. I’m so looking forward to this. As the days click forward towards my trip to Florida, I can’t help remembering all the fun times I had at the parks with the family. Especially all the fun times as Susie got to experience things for the first time. Now it’s going to be Mikey’s turn, and I just wonder what he’ll love. Will he be afraid of Mickey? What will he think of Beverly? Will he be a thrill ride junkie? I guess I’ll just have to wait to find that one out, but a good way to tell is to see how they do on the attraction in today’s memory. Ok, so it’s official. I’m heading to Orlando in June. Yes it’s for a convention at the Orange County Convention Center, but I can’t travel that far and not see the parks. So I will figure out a way to make it there, even if it’s for a day or just an evening. Maybe I’ll even plan a time to meet up with any of you who might be there at the same time, but no official plans yet. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. I say polarizing because I know people love to hate this attraction because it replace the beloved Horizons. Now it so happens that work might be sending me down to Orlando for one of two conventions this year, and if it works out, Traci may accompany me down just for a couple of days before the convention begins, and we’ll probably go to Walt Disney World for a day or two. Let me start off with an apology. Two weeks ago, my extended family all returned back to the home we grew up in to celebrate Christmas and my Dad’s birthday. It was a wonderful weekend, but in the process of planning and packing for the trip I totally forgot that I was supposed to release a podcast. I had contemplated putting something out, but after returning things were just crazy and I never got around to it. So that brings us to this weeks memory.
