What do the three gifts of the Magi reveal about what they knew about Jesus?

If the First Century Church observed our current popular understanding of salvation, they would be confused. They believed in a more complicated view that led to a revolution of selflessly restoring God's good world.

The First-Century Church was extremely generous towards one another. God's grace transformed the Christians to show grace through the giving of their possessions.

The First-Century Church was a collection of small groups with diverse members who were unified under Christ.

Although Jesus said that the Church will withstand death itself, we learn that disunity inside the Church can destroy it. Paul suggests that the remedy for disunity is mutual submission.

The Ekklesia (Church) survived and eventually shaped a persecuting culture. The purpose of the Church is to create opportunities to experience Heaven on Earth.

Our world has serious problems with unity and inclusion about race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, physical or mental ability, and marital status. How can Westlight be part of the solution? Sometimes we think we are part of the solution, but are making the problem worse. Jesus is moving to bring heaven on earth, right here and right now. Jesus tells us how we can be part of the solution! [Luke 13:31-35]

Are you actively inviting people who are unlike you into God's plan for the world? Or are you playing a game of exclusivity? Jesus warns us that we may be surprised that those we have excluded will end up inside God's kingdom. [Luke 13:22-30]

Jesus wants the Sabbath to be seen as a celebration and spreading of His intended world. Once we understand the value of Sabbath, we can spread His good world to those around us! [Luke 13:10-21]

In recent history, Christians have used Luke 13:3 as a way to condemn people who are not followers of Jesus. However, upon a closer look, Jesus is offering a warning to those who focus their attention on taking back blessings by force. What does this mean for us today? [Luke 13:1-9]

Does your faith cause division with others? Feeling alienated for following Jesus is a byproduct of the Kingdom of God. However, we must not mistake "division" for "enemy." [Luke 12:49-59]

What does God want to do with our stuff? He wants to use it to bring New Creation amid our current broken world. However, if we convince ourselves that our things are ours, then God can't use it. [Luke 12:35-46]

Do you worry a lot about your things? Perhaps you're investing in the wrong game. Jesus' vision for our lives does not include hoarding but distributing. Luke 12:22-34

Why has God given you so much? Why has God made you rich? If you stop to think about it, most of us have a lot more than we need. God distributes wealth so we can participate in blessing the world. [Luke 12:13-21]

In the midst of thousands of people, Jesus pulls aside his disciples to warn them of hypocrisy. This was ultimately a lesson on loyalty to God. Are we afraid to take a stand for God? [Luke 12:1-12]
