  • Parkinson's: Let's Talk About It

    13/04/2009 Duration: 02h00s

April is Parkinson's Awareness Month. My mother who adopted and raised me since I was a baby passed away on September 23, 2008. She had Parkinson's for the last few years of her life along with diabetes. I will discuss ways Parkinson's affected her life and our family. My favorite actor, Michael J Fox has it and is an advocate for finding a cure. Please call in and share your own story of how Parkinson's affects you or your loved one(s)? P.S. In memory of my mother, I am donating half of all proceeds to Parkinson's Research thru Michael J Fox's foundation (TeamFox) from my project, "Pumpkins for Parkinsons." • Are you touched by ADOPTION somehow?

    06/04/2009 Duration: 02h00s

Are you an adoptee, adoptive parent, biological parent or touched by adoption in another way? I was born and named Karen Kelly & then adopted and renamed 'Chelle at 13 days old. And grew up with my lovely adoptive parents who both died in 2008. And I have been reunited with my entire biological for ten years now (since I was 24). I was estatic to have spoken via CWLA's talk show with rapper DMC today as he is a reunited adoptee, "Just Like Me!"

  • PETS

    23/03/2009 Duration: 02h00s

What kind of pet do you have? Does your pet reflect your personality? How has your pet helped you? I adopted a dog, "Prescott" only thirteen days after my father passed away. Little did I know that my dog would be helping me cope with five more family deaths soon thereafter (including my mother and uncle). I started out adopting a dog thinking I was helping him but turns out he helped me mostly! Second Chance SPCA http://www.scspca.org/ http://www.petfinder.com

  • HERITAGE

    16/03/2009 Duration: 02h00s

What is your heritage? Your culture? What are some of your traditions? I was adopted and raised by a family who had British roots and then reunited at age 24 with my biological family who has Irish roots. SO, this is a question I like to ask others around this time of year. I love attending our local Irish festival every year to learn more about the Irish side of my family.

  • RELATIONSHIPS

    09/03/2009 Duration: 02h00s

Who do you turn to in times of sadness and happiness? I personally turn to God first and foremost, and then to my family members (especially husband and my biological mother) as well as my best friend of 19 years who I refer to as "Brother Blake." Relationships are so important to have as I realized this myself after losing six family members in six months, having broken arms, almost losing my husband, and almost losing my biological father in 2008.

  • Motivation for Graduation

    02/03/2009 Duration: 02h00s

Recent studies have shown that more Americans are currently declaring bankruptcy than have graduating from college. Let's discuss the reasons behind this...What's hindering students from graduating college as well as high school? And also I will discuss in detail my own issues I had and how either I resolved them or wish how I had. I had various issues myself that caused me to be in and out of college for ten years and at last, received my bachelors degree in Public Relations in May 2002.
