Believers strive to be tolerant and accepting of all people; we want to treat everyone with equal measures of dignity and respect, and to serve all with a humility that glorifies Christ. In this noble pursuit however, we must remember that this tolerance does not extend to the compromising of the message we have been commissioned to proclaim.

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. (Matt. 7:1) Is this passage grounds for quietly putting up with heresy and false doctrine? If we announce that a teaching is false or that a teacher is refusing to line up with sound Biblical doctrine is that not judging? If it is judging how do we reconcile the admonition not to judge and the rebuke for tolerating false teaching in Revelation 2?

Have we, like the church in Thyatira; become too tolerant, too politically correct? Should we be naming names when it comes to false teachers? Should we point out error or simply focus on truth?
