Until we clearly see and admit that we are not “mostly good” or even “neutral” in the holiness department, we will continue to wonder why our external clean up operations so consistently fail.

The Church is called to be “one” people, so we are to grow in unity. The Church is also called to be a “holy” people, so we are to grow in purity.

The empty tomb on resurrection Sunday morning is a sacred place, a holy place, a place where deepest sorrow is turned to joy, where mourning is replaced with dancing.

The crowd announces in their cries that Jesus is the awaited king and they offer shouts of praise. When the Pharisees tell Jesus to rebuke them - he rather confirms what they are saying.

Is there too much being made of false doctrine in the church today? Have discernment ministries and bloggers gone too far in naming names and posting book and sermon reviews?

Ministry Gifts - Pastor Teacher The What - The pastor, elder, is to shepherd God’s flock; an underling of the Chief Shepherd. The How - The shepherding of God’s flock is accomplished by the teaching of God’s Word.

Why combine the two terms, pastor and teacher into one category? What is the primary roll of the pastor and how is it to be accomplished? The Bible details high standards for those who would be elders or overseers in the church, who can meet these standards and how? Are pastors and/or elders to be obeyed by those they care for and if obedience is a requirement, are there exceptions to the rule and are there conditions that must be met by those in leadership rolls?

Is there a correct model of church government? What are examples of what the Bible refers to as “disputable matters”? What is meant by “Christian liberty” and what problems arise when it is denied or abused?
