    03/10/2023 Duration: 01min

Psalm 33 1 You are the LORD's people. Obey him and celebrate! He deserves your praise. 2 Praise the LORD with harps! Use harps with ten strings to make music for him. 3 Sing a new song. Shout! Play beautiful music. 4 The LORD is truthful; he can be trusted. 5 He loves justice and fairness, and he is kind to everyone everywhere on earth. 6 The LORD made the heavens and everything in them by his word. 7 He scooped up the ocean and stored the water. 8 Everyone in this world should worship and honor the LORD! 9 As soon as he spoke the world was created; at his command, the earth was formed. 10 The LORD destroys the plans and spoils the schemes of the nations. 11 But what the LORD has planned will stand forever.  His thoughts never change. 12 The LORD blesses each nation that worships only him. He blesses his chosen ones. 13 The LORD looks at the world 14 from his throne in heaven, and he watches us all. 15 The LORD gave us each a mind, and nothing we do can be hidden from him. 16 Mighty arm

It tells the story of a pagan woman giving up everything to cling to the people of Israel and to God Himself. Shows her faithfulness when the nation was faithless. Download the mp3 audio using the link below to start discovering more about this great lady of faith. In our previous episode, we looked at Ruth's surprising obedience. In this episode, we look at Ruth’s witness in that obedience. Ruth did more than merely remain with Naomi. Ruth was in fact Naomi's main support, both during their journey and after arriving in Israel, even though she was a stranger in Bethlehem. News of her faithfulness obviously spread quickly as it went before her into the fields of Boaz. When she asked why as a woman not from Israel was being treated so kindly, Boaz replied because of her support and friendship of Naomi You can see that in Ruth 2:11. Though direct

Psalm 132 A Song of Ascents. 132:1 Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction, 132:2 how he swore to Yahweh, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: 132:3 “Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed; 132:4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids; 132:5 until I find out a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.” 132:6 Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar: 132:7 “We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool. 132:8 Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place; you, and the ark of your strength. 132:9 Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!” 132:10 For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one. 132:11 Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne. 132:12 If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will

Studies of Ruth Study 2 - WOW! obedience.   The book of Ruth is a cameo story of love, devotion and redemption set in the black days of the Judges. It tells the story of a pagan woman giving up everything to cling to the people of Israel and to God Himself. Shows her faithfulness when the nation was faithless. Download the mp3 audio using the link below to start discovering more about this great lady of faith.   Today we look at Ruth's obedience. Firstly, her obedience is surprising - it has a wow factor to it! The harmony between Ruth and her mother-in-law is even more appealing when we consider the two unusual facets that could have driven them apart. Firstly, Mahlon, the natural connecting link between Ruth and Naomi was dead (Ruth 1 :3-5). Nothing specific is mentioned about the way the two women got along with each other while he was alive during those years in Moab. Instead, the story begins with the development of their relationship after Mahlon's death and at the time of the women's departure for

Studies of Ruth Today we start a short series looking at one of the Bible’s most enduring and endearing people – Ruth. There are perhaps two reasons why we study about people in the Bible - to learn how not to do some things like being deceitful, and how to do the right things. We will see how and in what way, Ruth was obedient to God in doing the right things. The book of Ruth is a cameo story of love, devotion and redemption set in the black days of the Judges. 30/09/2023 Duration: 46s

Psalm 130 A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. 1 From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help. 2 Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. 3 Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? 4 But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. 5 I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. 6 I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn. 7 O Israel, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is unfailing love. • Romans 12 - Living Life - Part 30

    30/09/2023 Duration: 03min

Romans 12: Living Life Study 30: Do good! v21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. I am sure you are aware that evil is all around us in this world. It is easy for us to become unenthusiastic and downcast in the face of the stress, pain and atrocity of evil. What is our response to be, says Paul? We are to overcome evil with good. We are to overcome evil by living such good lives of love of God and others, that evil is vanquished. Evil wants to snatch away your inner joy and dependence upon God. We can overcome and conquer evil by submitting all to God - remembering that our love for God must always be stronger than any other love. That is good overcoming evil! It is why in what we call the Lord’s Prayer, we pray “Deliver us from evil!” We have three enemies – satan, the world and our old nature. All three evils died a death when Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross and rose again to new life three days later. They just refuse to accept it! Light always overcomes darkness, go

  • Romans 12 - Living Life - Part 29

    29/09/2023 Duration: 03min

Romans 12: Living Life Study 29: Love your enemies v20 Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Paul continues on the theme of loving enemies! Now he recalls an ancient proverb! The meaning of the proverb is that by doing good to those who wish us harm in some way, that person will become discomfited and humiliated for the wrong he has perpetuated. If our enemy doesn’t repent or relent after doing that, then God’s judgement will be upon them. Do you have people who are against you? How are you treating them? Do you desire to win them over – loving enemies so that they become friends? Isn’t that also a picture of God? God loves us! Once we were enemies of God but He has done all He can do to get us over to be friends with Him. When Jesus was on the cross, He handed all judgement of those who persecuted him, over to God. It is God’s place and right to execute judgement upon people

  • Romans 12 - Living Life - Part 28

    28/09/2023 Duration: 03min

Romans 12: Living Life Study 28: Leave it to God Romans 12:18 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. How do we react when somebody hurts us or hurts somebody we love? Our natural reaction is to try and find some way to get even with them. This can be done in various ways. It could be by ignoring them – withdrawing away and not having any communication with them directly. Or it could be the spreading of malicious gossip that is a revenge tactic. When in the church hall after a church service people talking to each other “Did you hear what so and so did to me?” Those are forms of revenge. Remember as Christians, we are to be in harmony with each other and to do all we can to be at peace with each other. We are not to seek revenge on others in any form. We are commanded by Jesus, who is our Lord, to forgive others who have sinned against us. While our inner nature and desire maybe to

  • Psalm On Demand - Psalm 149

    19/09/2023 Duration: 01min

Psalm 149 Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful. O Israel, rejoice in your Maker. O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King.   Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.   Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds. Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands - to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains, to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones.   Praise the Lord!   Click or Tap here to listen to or save this as an audio mp3 file

    17/09/2023 Duration: 02min

Psalm 77 For the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm by Asaph. 77:1 My cry goes to God! Indeed, I cry to God for help, and for him to listen to me. 77:2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn’t get tired. My soul refused to be comforted. 77:3 I remember God, and I groan. I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah. 77:4 You hold my eyelids open. I am so troubled that I can’t speak. 77:5 I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. 77:6 I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires: 77:7 “Will the Lord reject us forever? Will he be favorable no more? 77:8 Has his loving kindness vanished forever? Does his promise fail for generations? 77:9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he, in anger, withheld his compassion?” Selah. 77:10 Then I thought, “I will appeal to this: the years of the right hand of the Most High.” 7 7:11 I will remember Yah&rsquo

Then they said among the nations, "Yahweh has done great things for them." 126:3 Yahweh has done great things for us, and we are glad. 126:4 Restore our fortunes again, Yahweh, like the streams in the Negev. 126:5 Those who sow in tears will reap in joy. 126:6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves. • Romans 12 - Living Life - Part 15

    15/09/2023 Duration: 03min

Romans 12: Living Life Study 15: Glue to good and eschew evil      V9- Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Do you want to show you love God? Then hate what God hates and adhere to what is good! Turn away from and get rid of from all that which God hates! Instead turn towards goodness and living right with God. God cannot abide sin and evil, and neither should those who claim to follow Him. When you love God then you are clinging to what is good, holy and helpful. Love is also discerning and doesn’t let others sin wilfully but allows for you to gentle guide others back to living right with God and other people. Note I said gentle and not forceful or coercion. It’s not your job to convict others of sin. That is the role of the Holy Spirit and for Him to bring to repentance. God is love and cannot abide sin or evil. We as Christians are to turn away from all that is wrong and evil. Love God by living a life worthy of God – all that which is good, holy and pleasing to God! WOW! Evil is

  • Romans 12 - Living Life - Part 14

    14/09/2023 Duration: 03min

Romans 12: Living Life Study 14: Go! Love! Really Love! v9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. To have a gift or gifts, such as those Paul lists here, is a sign of God’s love for you! Therefore you are to love others – all others. If you are doing it after God’s own interests and the welfare of other people then you really do love others. Really love them! People can smell out fake love in an instant! If you are doing things for your own interest and welfare, and patronising towards others or as a means to manipulate them, then that is a fake love. Why do you do what you do for God and for other people? Is it because you are driven by your love for God and love for others? This is love for others without pretence or hypocrisy. That is real love! If it is for any other reason, then it is not real love. That includes loving those who wouldn’t naturally be the target of your love - including those who hate you and those who have done you wrong. To love only those who love us, is wha

For the faithful fail from among the children of men. 12:2 Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart. 12:3 May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts, 12:4 who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?” 12:5 “Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says Yahweh; “I will set him in safety from those who malign him.” 12:6 The words of Yahweh are flawless words, as silver refined in a clay furnace, purified seven times. 12:7 You will keep them, Yahweh. You will preserve them from this generation forever. 12:8 The wicked walk on every side, when what is vile is exalted among the sons of men. How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”? 2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart. 3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? 4 Yahweh is in his holy temple. Yahweh is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men. 5 Yahweh examines the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence. 6 On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup. 7 For Yahweh is righteous. He blesses the greedy, and condemns Yahweh. 10:4 The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God. 10:5 His ways are prosperous at all times.
