Wirral Council leader on government's decision to not provide any funding for New Ferry

In the letter, Wirral Council were told 'for an incident of this size and impact we would expect these costs to be covered using existing local resources'. In response, Cllr Davies told Mick how he believes that "if you're in the south of England you're ok, if you're in the north you've got no chance"

The Anfield couple told Mick Coyle how they have since set up a charity in their daughter's name to provide support for bereaved families. 'Love Jasmine' holds support groups for parents who have lost children of all ages and also siblings who have lost brothers and sisters. Kathy & Rob have been campaigning to scrap child burial & cremation fees in Liverpool and have had the full backing of the Liverpool Council.

RMT will call off Open strike if they are offered the Great Western deal from Merseyrail

Merseyrail are concerned that the RMT strike on the 23rd July will harm the Liverpool City Region as it falls on the last day of the Open being held at Royal Birkdale. John Tilley told us that the RMT would sign the Great Western deal if it was offered to them by Merseyrail in time for the Open.

Merseyside's Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram told Mick Coyle the idea could work, if it was tightly controlled. You can hear from Steve and also from Roy Bentham, Spirit of Shankly and the Football Supporters Federation, who is in favour of safe standing.

The North West recruits 37% of the country's armed forces and there are over 87,000 veterans here in Liverpool city region. The centre would be able to help veterans withe the dedicated support they need, from mental health services to job searches. The new charity has also got a new patron, the Earl of Derby DL. Stuart & John joined Mick Coyle ahead of National Armed Forces Day to talk about the charity.
