Matthew, Chapter 3

Chris Seay joins us from Ecclesia church in Houston, TX to wrap up the advent season. He contrasts the consumerism of our current culture to the way in which Christ sent out His disciples armed with vulnerability.

Pastor Rick contrasts the lives of Simeon and Anna, who were eagerly awaiting the coming of the messiah and rejoiced at seeing him, with the vast majority of people who completely missed him, and asks us the questions, "How do we not miss Jesus when he shows up?, and How do we make this Christmas a Christmas of worship?"

Rick takes a closer look at the actions of the Magi in the advent story and proceeds to ask us the question, "Is the advent story just one of many stories in your life or has it personally changed you?"

Heather uses Matthew chapter 1 as a reference point to show that 'God is with us' and because He is, we have everything we need. She also points out that Christ didn't just come as King, but as the people's King.
