Tonight, we want to talk about a specific phenomenon often colloquially referred to as “Failure to Launch Syndrome,” although this is not an actual pathology per se, and can have a few different kinds of causes. We also want to touch base on Basic Adult Life Skills, and ability to function independently in society. To be clear, also, we will briefly address those who may behave this way due to a bona fide pathology, just to get that possibility out of the way, but primarily we are referring to social choices made by adults capable of navigating them. Tonight, we will discuss: Basic Adult Life Skills, and Failure to Launch Syn

  • The Rock & Roll Shrink Radio Show Ep. 130 – Everybody Hurts (Suicide Survivors)

    26/05/2022 Duration: 59min

Although she wasn’t a rock star, never mind a classic rock star, which is usually our focus genre, Naomi Judd was just the latest well-known musician in recent weeks to have committed suicide. In light of her recent death, we thought we might discuss the plight of those close friends and family who are left behind when someone takes their own life. Tonight’s topic deals with survivors of suicide, meaning those who are left behind to grieve (to avoid any confusion, we do NOT mean those who attempted suicide and failed).
