Jesus came not to get a life - but to give his life. If you want to live the life God intended, serve with the gift that God has given you. God's grace is your gift and your gift is God's grace.

How do we go from receiving to reigning? By fighting a good fight of faith in our daily battles - by aligning our thoughts, belief system and self talk to the Word of God.

Condemnation makes us feel as if life is reigning over us, not vice versa. But who condemns us and tells us we're not good enough? God surely doesn't.

We're all sinners, without any exemption. But we're all made righteous through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Every believer should get familiar with Romans 5, because it has everything to do with living life as an overcomer: it's the life script for our destiny as sons and daughters of the King of Kings, to rule and reign in life.

We need to have God's word in us to go into the world. If we don't have a word, we won't go. And we can't go with a word we don't believe in or haven't experienced.

We often pray for guidance and direction, but God's word doesn't always say everything about every situation - but it says a lot about the one who will be there to walk with us through every situation.

How does God want to unleash this church? Not just by being radical individuals but by being a radical new community, working out the gospel together.

We may think that we don't have enough money, knowledge, skills or friends to make disciples. But we don't have to: all we need is to have fellowship with people and they will open up - to us and to God.

If we reclaim our field, our house will become a house of worship, a house full of people and a house for the city. We won't fight about music styles, we won't just be for one demography and we will be indispensable for the city.

The first time when people were getting together in unity and sharing everything was in the first Christian community. How does out community look like today?

"Go!" doesn't always mean a long way: sometimes it's just a little farther from where we're at - or from what we've settled for. But the miracle is always in the stretch.

What can we learn from Joshua at the eve of entering the promised land as we are celebrating our first service on San Francisco's Treasure Island?

Do we love people? Or do we just tolerate or maybe even avoid them? Why do we love things more than Jesus? Because we have not discovered how much he loves us - there is not a moment where he doesn't love us.

Discipleship is simply about following Jesus. Are we really observing and asking, following him in all we do, getting on a mission with him and go out? Are we really walking with God and abide in him?

Mercy hurts, is selfless and doesn't insist on getting something in return. How can we be merciful persons? Whom can we give something, and what?

Even if we come to church every week, are huge givers and do long fasts, it doesn't make us followers of Jesus. We need to ask ourselves: How do I follow Jesus with everything I do - not by following rules, but by becoming like him.

With our words we can either bless or curse our future. We need to consider God's best for us and turn the talk about failure into talk about favor - not saying what it looks like in the natural but what it looks like to God.

We often ask ourselves: why do bad things happen to good people - or more precisely, me? But instead of that question, we should ask ourselves: why do good things happen to bad people?
