    28/09/2015 Duration: 14min

questions or comments?  shark@zensharkmedia.com In this episode of The Talent Show, I discuss how important it is for your title or tagline to clearly say what your show is about.  It's very easy to get "cute" with your name or tagline, but this can really backfire.  To ensure consistency and easy search, make sure that your potential listeners know exactly what your show is all about.

    10/09/2015 Duration: 13min

Questions?  Cool.  shark@zensharkmedia.com This episode of The Talent Show we explore the idea of resetting content in your podcast.  In radio, we would always reset content because listeners come and go minute-by-minute.  In podcasting, resetting isn't as important because listeners can find info on their phone, computer, etc...  However, resetting is a valuable tool that all hosts can use to keep listeners engaged at all times.  Enjoy and thanks for all your feedback!!!

    31/08/2015 Duration: 17min

How long should your podcast really be?  It's easy to answer, "shorter than it currently is!" But that's more a point to doing better editing...for another time.  In this episode, we discuss the perfect length of a podcast (if there is one).  I give you the average length of all podcasts, the biggest complaints about podcasts and three factors to consider when asking yourself how long your show should be.  Enjoy! questions?  shark@zensharkmedia.com

  • Episode 027 - Feedback (Part Three) - Coaching Session with Alex Barker

    27/08/2015 Duration: 25min

Feedback (Part Three) - In this episode of The Talent Show, I spend a few minutes with fellow host, Alex Barker.  Alex hosts The 66 Day Experiment, a show about setting a true habit for change.  During this actual coaching call that Alex and I did a week or so ago, I tell him that I like his fluidity and content, but he should look at structuring his show to give his listeners a better, more engaged experience.  I start this episode with three minutes of Alex's show as well so you can hear what he's doing. Thanks for listening to The Talent Show!

  • Episode 026 - Feedback (Part Two) - Overcoming the Fear of Feedback

    24/08/2015 Duration: 23min

Feedback Part two! This episode, I explore the fear of feedback that is rampant amongst all of us that do our own show.  We know we need it...but it's hard to ask for it and even harder to recieve it. I share a story of feedback I recently received that lead to part of this episode. I share a story of (poorly) giving feedback to my radio morning show in Tampa, The Morning X. And finally, four things to remember when receiving feedback. Thanks and enjoy and I hope you have a great show!

  • Episode 025 - Feedback - The Truth

    20/08/2015 Duration: 15min

In this episode of The Talent Show, I look at the truth about feedback.  This show, the first of a three part series, looks at the fact that podcasters, by in large, don't seek feedback.  In a very brief conversation I had with a speaker at Podcast Movement, it was confirmed to me.  While hosts won't seek it, and that's perfectly normal, feedback is a key to success.  This show leads into the next episode about overcoming a fear of feedback.  I also give mention to a couple of shows I have worked with recently -  J. Michael and wyzguyradio (www.wyzguyradio.com) Alex Barker and the 66 Day Experiment (search on itunes or www.66dayexperiment.com) thanks for listening!

  • Episode 21 - Exhausted after Podcast Movement 2015

    06/08/2015 Duration: 27min

So, I recorded this episode of the Talent Show on Sunday night, August 2nd at around 11:30pm.  I was tired and had a whole lot of jelly-mind from so many amazing sessions and conversations with fellow podcast hosts.  This is an incredible time for podcasting and it's only just begun!  I'm a bit tired and a bit loopy, but I hit record and gave a recap, who was present and absent at PM15 and the three big takeaways from 48 hours of podcast overload.  Don't confuse my tired state in this episode for a lack of excitement...it was amazing!

  • Episode 20 - Interview with John Lee Dumas

    03/08/2015 Duration: 26min

John talks about his success, failures and what lead him on this journey.  John also talks about the ONE thing he would have done if he had to do it all over again.

  • Episode 019 - The State of Podcasting/Podcast Movement

    30/07/2015 Duration: 16min

So excited for this weekend...it's Podcast Movement!  Though I have never been to this convention, it really feels like its going to be a great experience with alot of digital hosts.  In this episode, I touch upon a few key points from Edison Research's study of the State of Podcasting 2015.  This is the survey that was discussed at NMX as well as radio's convention, The Conclave.  I go into awareness of podcasting, the "Serial" effect and Edison's powerful information, the "share of ear" data.  Enjoy!

  • Episode 018 - Harnessing the Power of the Spoken Word

    27/07/2015 Duration: 16min

Questions?  cool. Questions@thetalentshowpodcast.com This episode is all about how we truly speak when we do our show.  Recognizing that your audience is big, but remembering that you are ALWAYS having an intimate conversation. The reason spoken word media is so successful is because it is so personal.  There is an intimate connection with our listeners every time we do a show.  This episode will give you a great tip to help you stay personal with every show!
