Kris Freeman, four-time Olympic cross country skier, comes on the podcast to share his take on the controversial remarks posted on Twitter by the CrossFit CEO in 2015, and why Kris thinks Type 1 diabetes should be renamed. Beth and Tung Tran's son Jack was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes six months ago at the age of two (While Beth was 8 months pregnant). This episode is a fantastic look into the first few months of life with type 1 diabetes as well as an eye opening (for me) look about how things have changed since Arden's diagnosis. I was heartened by how the Tran family is embracing diabetes technology and the diabetes community online. Moreover, I was elated to hear about how their physicians made the family aware of technology and Internet based type 1 diabetes communities. Rachel Morgan is a tenacious type 1 diabetes mom who did not give up when doctors instructed her to discontinue using her son Henry's insulin pump and continous glucose monitor becasue of his severe adhesive allergy. Instead she turned to the diabetes community online and found an answer to Henry's serious problem - this ain't no contact dermatitis.
