Well this has been quite the journey so far! We are growing and learning throught this process.Thank you for joining us on that journey! Here is episode three! This will be our last episode before the race starts. Enjoy some pre-race updates and other mushing info.

This is an updated version of episode 2. In the chaos of trying to get the podcast up quickly Miss Thompson made a mistake and forgot to add our Meet the Musher segment! This is the same episode with the added segment! Enjoy! Stay tuned for epsisode 3, which will come out on Friday!

Our first episode of season three is here! This season is a little different for I Kid A Pod due to Mrs. Treptow taking on a new position in our district. In this episode we do a sort of passing of the torch episode. This episode is to help explain the changes, what this year will look like, and what Mrs. Treptow is up to today. This is the only episode this season that will be adults leading the way. After this, it will be up to Miss Thompson's students to bring you the exciting coverage of the 2018 Iditarod. Let's get this season started!

Our Last Episode of Season Two!  It comes with great saddness that we publish our last episode of the season.  This has been a great experience for our class and we thank all our faithful subscribers!  We hope you tune in next season for coverage of Iditarod 2018!

We have a winner and a new course record!!  Ever wonder what the word Iditarod means?  Tune in today to find out the answer and some other entertaining tidbits!  

We are winding down on our miles to mush!  Hard to believe that we will see some mushers across the burled arch within the next 12 hours.  In today's episode you can learn about the awards given to the first musher to arrive at checkpoints, discover what RIGGING and NECKLINE mean and enjoy some Trail Trivia!  Also, a special shout out to Iditapod, our "new podcast friends" who are providing coverage right from the race course!

Things are really heating up on the race course...well, not literally heating up, it was -43 degrees last night, but the competition is in full force.  Take a listen to today's episode to find out a little more about manis and pedis for dogs, meet a musher, and a shout out to another podcast that has been an isnpiration for our team!

WOW!  This episode is packed full of fun information!  We have a race update and some mushing lingo.  Also we are featuring Hans Gatt on this episode, an interview with Crystal Coldfingers and we are proud to feature a song written by Hobo Jim, Alaskan's Baladeer, The Itidarod Trail!  Our entire 4th grade class sang this song at a recent spring concert.  Enjoy!  :) 

The Race is on!!  The official start is underway and our mushers are headed out on the course.  Take a listen to some highlights from the ceremonial start.  

Today Kaltag gives us some importnat information on the all important Musher's Banquet that was held last night.  We now know the order that our mushers are taking off!  This is a VERY exciting weekend since the Ceremonial Start will be held on Saturday.  Then all the mushers and their pooches will have to travel to Fairbanks for the official start on Monday.  :)

Today Team Takotna tests your skills with some Trail Trivia, remembers the story of Libby Riddles and Balto, gives the science behind the dogs and compares the number of checkpoints each year. Enjoy!
