Today's message is out of Exodus 24-26, and it speaks to us about the theme of relationship. In these passages, we see how the Lord renewed His covenant with the people of Israel and how He instructed them to renew their commitment to Him through the construction of the tabernacle. God was building in Israel a physical picture of what it would look like to live with him. For us today, through Christ, He is building a new dwelling place in which His Spirit dwells within us individually as believers and together as a church. We last saw the Israelites on the other side of the Red Sea, singing praises to God for how He had cared for them. Things take a sharp turn, however, when tummies and tempers start grumbling and God's people suddenly experience an episode of mass-amnesia. We are not meant to grow in isolation, but rather as a part of a larger spiritual family. Today we look at Luke 1:46-55. As Mary ponders the great things that God has done for her, she bursts forth in a song of praise. She declares that God has looked upon His humble servant and has filled her with His grace. She rejoices in the fact that God has brought down the mighty and has lifted up the humble.Through Mary's words, we see the incredible love that she had for God. She was willing to put aside her own desires and trust in His plan for her life. Her love for God was evident in the way she lived her life and in the way she praised Him.As we read this passage, we are reminded of the love that God has for each one of us. He desires for us to trust in Him and to seek His will for our lives.

In today's message we hear the story of Elizabeth, cousin of Mary, and her joyful expectation of both her own child and the coming Messiah.

The God who is in control can fill your Christmas with peace.
