Happy New Year 2019!! It’s the first new episode of the year, and that means it’s time to make plans for what I want to do on the show this year that I’ll probably never get to. Plus I’ve got a little tease for some ideas and recommendations coming up this year.I realize I do this just about every year. Right around new year’s I look back on all of the things I did last year, and all of the things that I want to do in the coming year. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever really kept up any one of those plans, with exception to maybe keeping a more consistent release schedule. I’ve missed only a handful of shows in the last year, which is more than I can say for years past. I may have been late more times than I would have liked, but I got something out. On top of that, I actually accomplished my goal of completing the 30 days of podcasting for NAPODPOMO. This week I’ve got a tale of too many “Perplexi,” an oddly large number of humorous news stories about guns, a “Jackass” who wants to trade pot for a Big Mac, and I don’t care if Paul Csomo already mentioned it, in “Recommended Listening” I’m talking about Weird With You. Hope you had a great holiday, whatever holiday you celebrate. For us that would be Yule, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t give presents. But when you’ve got 4 boys who get jealous of everything, you have to have a strategy. For example, buying them all different versions of the same toy. In our case that toy would be the Perplexus. If you haven’t seen one, a Perplexus is a 3 dimensional puzzle, usually within a sphere, where the goal is to move a ball from a starting point through 100+ turns and obstacles to the end without falling off the track. It’s almost Christmas. Why not add a little holiday cheer to the show. Gareth’s Random Ramblings is doing their annual Christmas series, and we even got into the spirit this weekend decorating gingerbread houses. Of course I’ve still got a “Jackass of the Week” that throws all that holiday spirit out the window.This year my wife decided that we should try to do some more traditional things for the holidays. As such, my wife decided that we were going to decorate gingerbread houses and sugar cookies. I’m not necessarily against decorating cookies. But I do have a thing about gingerbread houses. I just don’t understand the point of decorating food that you really have no intention of eating. Decorating fresh gingerbread cookies or fresh baked sugar cookies I’m ok with, but to spend all that time to decorate a bunch of stale semi-gingerbread sheets glued into house form just to sit on a shelf and get thrown away… I’m not a fan. It's Friday November 30th, the final day of National Podcast Post Month. Thursday Day 29 and I've just about done it. I wanhted to do a big clip show at the end of this, but that's just too much work. Instead I'm just looking back at how much I've grown in the last month of daily shows. Wednesday Day 28 and we're making mac and cheese.Here's what you'll need:1 Link Smoked Sausage- cubed1 lb Macaroni Pasta of Your Choice1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, cubed2 heavy Tbs Flour1/2 teaspoon saltDash pepper2 cups whole milk8 ounces ( 1/2 lb) FRESHLY SHREDDED Cheddar Cheese- Boil your pasta (duh)-While pasta is boiling, brown your sausage in an extra large sauce pan or pot, remove sausage from pan and set aside- In sausage pan, melt your butter and whisk together with sausage drippings- Once butter is melted, whisk in your flour until thoroughly combined-After flour is integrated, slowly whisk in your milk, giving it time to completely absorb into the flour butter mix before adding more. It will go from a paste to more of a gravy consistency.-After all the milk is thoroughly mixed in, slowly whisk in your cheese in small handfulls, making sure to allow it to completely melt and integrate before adding more to the pan. -After all of the cheese is added and melted, reintroduce the sausage to the mix and sti
