We're on the eve of E3 2021 and the world could go topsy turvy. Why? Because, even though it is virtual this year - it might be an epic year. Maybe they are going all out BECAUSE it's virtual. Last week we focused entirely on Nintendo, this week we run down the other bingo cards and talk some fresh Nintendo and Microsoft rumors.

Sony back peddled real dang hard on that shutting down the PS3 and Vita store idea. They back peddled right after sales boosted hard - which has led to conspiracy theories that it was a calculated move... Oh and we talk about the Resident Evil Demo too.

In the year 2021, a small, relatively common microchip was in short supply. This caused a shortage on many electronics but was most notably noticed in Next Gen Gaming Consoles. The shortage of consoles was further exacerbated by scalpers buying and holding the systems to sell at insane prices. This led to next gen games having to choose between delay or releasing to sit on shelves because no one had a console to play them on... This is the Cross Gen Years.

E3 is alive!? Konami will have something to show!? States might fully reopen? Is June hyped up or can we really hope? Join us for talk of expected announcements, the two jokes that were so messed up people refused to film them for Assist Me, and all our hopes for the summer.

Remember licensed movie games? They're sorta rare now but at one time they were guaranteed to follow any major motion picture as part of their marketing scheme. Like a soundtrack (remember those!?). This episode we talk about the best, the worst, and the never was that we wish would have happened.

This episode starts off with confirmed Switch Pro details but then we get into the meat of the episode. It turns out the PS3 and PS4 have a built in expiration dates. And that leads into Piracy as a way to preserve old games that may otherwise disappear.

Other than Activision Bobby getting a huge payday at the worst possible time, it's been a slow news week. We spend this episode debating whether esports events will make a comeback and more importantly whether I will ever be as attractive as Sam Elliot. Plus a bonus topic are there any directors that have perfect filmographies?

I started this episode by making Matt promise to stay positive about Bethesda being bought by Microsoft. We mostly did it. Mostly.   Continuing the pandemic trend of not editing out our tangents and letting you have the longer, more meandering episodes - let me know if you'd like us to go back to 1 hour, strictly on topic style.

Sony's State of Play had a couple surprises, but none quite as big as a confirmed Switch Pro being leaked. It's a roller coaster of emotion for me as I finally see more of Kena, and learn Ember studios might be dirtbags. Jump in and ride with me, doods!

It's all Nintendo Direct talk today... and bears... and spiders... BUT MOSTLY ALL DIRECT.

Sonic 2 officially announced. Means this pandemic might be bookended by video game movies. Last of Us 2 has Craig Mazin as its writer which is promising news and as we recorded this Pedro Pascal was announced as playing Joel - something both Matt and I think is a great move. Yep, this episode is all about the video game movies (and Tv series) that are coming soon and updates both promising and upsetting.

We start off strong with laser tag, shitty human behavior, debate on the use of nuclear energy and then move into gaming mysteries with a segue as subtle as a brick to the face. If you hear children screaming... Well... keep it to yourself. :P   Shine on doods!

Last week, before the madness of the stonks - there was an equally mad event. Microsoft doubled the price of its Gold Membership. It... didn't go well. Also we talk about Gamestop's meteoric climb in the stock market. Neither of us are experts, so take our thoughts here with a big ol' grain of SAHLT.
