Mike talks about the three things investors have to be grateful for: Fed easing of monetary policy (rates, repurchase market, and treasury bills), low inflation has allowed companies to grow, and US consumer confidence remains high. Economic expansion ends if central banks tighten monetary policy too aggressively, but current inflationary pressures have allowed companies to grow. Wages are growing at 3%, almost double the cost of living, equating to U.S. consumers contributing to the market. A pickup in jobless claims could be a sign of U.S. consumer confidence decline. The past decade and year was a good market for investors (only decade w/o recession).
