The doxology of the Lord's Prayer says "For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." This is meant to remind us that it is God's Kingdom, Power, and Glory. But we sometimes forget that we have been given this Kingdom and Power as well. So... what is this "power"?

Every one of us has our priorities... but do they match with what God says should be our guiding force? The "Greatest Command" in scripture is to love... Love God and love others... this should inform everything we do.

Have you ever noticed that prayer seems to be at the forefront of amazing mothers. Maybe we could learn a thing or two about prayer from some mothers in scripture.

Too many believers practice "churchianity" rather than Christianity. We are often simply concerned with 1-3 hours a week (for church) rather than 168 hours (for Christ). We might need to rethink what it means to be a disciple.

In the book of Revelation, it seems pretty clear that the Kingdom of Heaven is made up of people from every nation and tribe. And all these people are unified by Christ and united in their praise. If this is true in the view of Revelation, then it should probably be true here and now as well.

Almost 2000 years ago a Kingdom was established that is nothing like those of this world. The Kingdom of Heaven showed its power when our King raised from the dead that first Easter morning.

One line from "The Lord's Prayer" says... "Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." What is this prayer really asking for?

If we were to consider evangelizing our neighbors, how would we do it? Well, maybe Jesus would be a good example.

Many of us will simply settle for an upgrade for our lives... But Jesus talks in terms of being a new creation or born again. So what does that mean?

We have all heard about the Redeemer (Jesus)... but many might not realize that redemption runs in his family. Boaz redeemed Ruth and through it showed us what it takes to truly redeem someone.

In Ruth 3, Ruth proposes to Boaz by asking him to cover her... which is reminiscent of the blessing Boaz gave Ruth about being "under the wings of God". How many of us have asked God to cover us?

The story of Ruth is one of struggle, loss, faith, redemption, and (of course) love. But like us, when the story begins, we can't see what God might be doing.

Everyone is welcome, but no one would be the same as when they came. A church should expect spiritual growth just as a parent expects physical and mental growth of their child.

What happens when we are truly a welcome home? Well... people will show up. And when people show up, it's not always easy to navigate the differences we might have. So in that way, home is often messy.

Do you consider yourself a safe person? How would others see you? The church family should be a safe place, but sometimes it is not. How do we become a place that is safe for anyone?

Where do you go to get refreshed?... Not just physically, but spiritually? The Church (if it is truly the body of Christ) should be refreshing like living water.

The prodigal son experienced a welcome home he didn't expect. How can we (as a church) offer the same kind of reception?
