Topics covered in presentations included cancer-related complications, quality-of-life management, and end-of-life care.

This year's meeting attracted approximately 15,000 participants from around the world, including researchers and academics in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and gastrointestinal surgery. The conference featured approximately 5,000 abstracts and hundreds of lectures, highlighting recent advances in gastroenterology research, medicine, and technology.

Host: Jennifer Shu, MD, FAAP Guest: Bruce Aylward, MD, MPH This year's meeting was held from April 9 to 16 in Honolulu, attracting approximately 10,000 participants from around the world, including clinicians, academicians, allied health professionals, and others interested in neurology, and highlighting recent advances in neurological disorders.

Host: Matt Birnholz, MD The American College of Cardiology's 60th Annual Scientific Session and Expo, held April 2 to 5 in New Orleans, attracted approximately 30,000 participants from around the world, including clinicians, academicians, allied health professionals, and others interested in cardiology. The conference highlighted recent advances in the treatment, management, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, with presentations also focusing on novel drugs and surgical approaches to improve the quality of care for patients with cardiovascular diseases.

Host: Matt Birnholz, MD The American College of Physicians Internal Medicine 2011, held April 7 through 9 in San Diego, highlighted recent advances in the prevention, detection, and treatment of illnesses in adults, with over 250 scientific sessions covering a variety of topics, including updates in neurology, oncology, infectious diseases, endocrinology, and cardiology.

The conference highlighted recent advances in allergy and immunology research, with presentations also focusing on other developments in allergy, asthma, and immunologic diseases.
