OOTRT - LUX RADIO THEATRE (South Africa)
22/02/2026 Duration: 43minWe present this week, since it's the last Sunday of the month, a new feature: OBSCURE OLD-TIME RADIO THEATRE! These may or may not be familiar to you, but we're betting that most of you haven't heard of these before. And so, depending on how much bandwidth we have left over at the end of a month, we'll be bringing you a handful of basically unknown radio shows from the Golden Age, and more than likely from a country other than the U.S. of A. We conclude with... LUX RADIO THEATRE (SOUTH AFRICA) -- an unadvertised extra feature, we had even more bandwidth available than we thought we would, so here's this little gem -- originally broadcast on South Africa's Springbok Radio, it ran for decades and, following the same format of the U.S. version, featured adaptations of films -- but borrowed from English and African cinema as well as American. Our feature today is called A Gentleman's Sport, which tells the story of a young man's desire to follow in his father's footsteps as a decorated aviator.

PROJECT AUDION 78 - Doctor Christian
15/02/2026 Duration: 42minPROJECT AUDION 78 - Doctor Christian Even the greatest creative people had to start somewhere. For Rod Serling, whose "Twilight Zone" series is one of the landmarks of television, it was the radio series "Doctor Christian." Project Audion is proud to recreate his very first professionally sold script for that show, which hasn't been heard since it originally aired back on November 9, 1949. While completing college, Rod Serling submitted a script about a boxer who was facing the fight of his life - entitled "To Live a Dream." Entered into Christian's annual scriptwriting contest, it came in second place, and gave Serling his first income from writing, his first national broadcast -- and the first step of Rod Serling's own dream. It's a surprisingly polished and intense first step, at that! Audion's far-flung voice actors included. Ken Raney in Tex
