There has been a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of college football fans have cried out in angst, and were silenced thanks to the District Attorney in Ouachita parish. Cam Robinson and Hootie Jones will not be facing charges stemming from a recent arrest, and the Bama Nation has heaved a sigh of relief. The rest of the country is howling about the Red Elephant Club, Alabama Mafia, Nick Saban's Cabal, or other such hilarity as to the reason for this turn of events. For us at BAMS, we can laugh at the keyboard warriors who suddenly possess decades of legal experience, as well as a complex understanding of everything that went on the case, so we'll be spending a significant portion of the show guffawing. Summer heat has ratcheted up in Alabama. While everyone is basking in the heat, and drinking tea by the gallon to cope, BAMS has been busy putting together a solid show. Is it football season yet? Obviously not, seeing as Jim Harbaugh engaged in a bit of snark directed at Nick Saban regarding satellite camps. Summer is here, and walking outside feels like walking into a wet towel, but that doesn't stop BAMS from being all Bama all the time. We've got softball and baseball postseason discussions happening, and the Tide's softball play-by-play guy, Tom Canterbury, will join us to catch our listeners up on everything happening with the Alabama softball team as they prepare for a super regional. BAMS lost our patriarch this week. Greg Calhoun, the founder of the show, passed into the great beyond on Wednesday. You might have known him as BamaBird. No matter which name you knew him by, he was special. This show will be heavily focused on remembering this great man. We will have AG, the original producer of BAMSRadio, join us to talk about Bird. The rest of the show will be open. We'll take callers that want to share their favorite BamaBird story, and won't close down the show until our lines are empty.
