An interview with Colonel Tony Deane, author of Ramadi Declassified. COL. TONY DEANE, US ARMY (Retired) Colonel Tony Deane was commissioned in 1985 and has served in Armor and Cavalry units throughout his career. At NASA Kennedy Space Center, for nearly ten years Darren Beyer worked as a space shuttle experiment engineer. While there, he worked on the Hubble launch, as well as numerous space lab and other scientific missions. Experiments he was responsible for ranged from telescopes to frog life support. He conducted astronaut training, performed installations onboard the shuttle just prior to launch, and was part of the recovery crew following landing. Darren has had the honor of working onboard every space shuttle orbiter except Challenger. In late 1998, Darren left NASA to become an entrepreneur, and, after more than seventeen years, an author. He is a student of science and technology and is an instrument-rated private pilot.

Today’s special guest is Nick Maley, creature effect make up artist for over 50 films, including Star Wars, and one of the makers of the original Yoda.  Today he is promoting savingyoda.com, a project that aims to rebuild the practical Yoda and have him available for the anthology films.  In 2014 he formed the Follow Your Star Foundation, a non-profit organization.
