What have I learned in reading hundreds of thousands of comments online about the best strategy for responding to viewers on YouTube, comments on Facebook, discussions on Skillshare, reviews on Udemy, and the chat on Twitch, Hitbox, and Beam? To summarize, everyone is here to help me. My policy now is to allow everyone to share whatever they want and for me to receive what is said in a loving way. This means I avoid banning people because of anything they say in the chat and I am curious as to what prompts a reaction out of me now. For the first hundreds of videos I did on YouTube, I often and obsessed about comments getting into arguments and frequently hiding comments I did not like. As I built my Facebook page, I took the same approach banning people completely from that page that posted anything I did not like which thanking people for saying things I did like.
