Researchers at McMaster University have released new guidelines for doctors when it comes to prescribing opioid pain killers. The new guidelines' goal is to help curb overdose rates cross country. They advise that doctors prescribe other medicines be considered first before opioids and that opioids only be considered for patients who do not have any substance or psychiatric issues.
