“We were worried for his life”: Erica Mills talks about her son’s battle with PANDAS, a little-known autoimmune condition that affects 1 in 200 children in our country. It is linked to strep throat, and causes a significant change in the behaviour and personality of a child. Parents are petitioning to encourage the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) to educate their physicians about the conditions (PANDAS and PANS), to gives children the proper treatment and avoid misdiagnosing it as a psychiatic disorder.
