Austin Dill wrote and recorded 'The Joy of Giving' to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, specifically the Hamilton’s location, which supported him and his family when he was a child. After one of Austin's high school teachers shared the song with a friend – Arkells drummer Tom Oxford –  who brought the song and the fundraising to the attention of the rest of the band.
