Synopsis
The Hamilton Today Podcast with Scott Thompson.... We take a listen to and talk with Sawyer Bogdan about her work on Global’s three-part Journey to Justice series, exploring the emotional trauma that survivors of sex trafficking experience as they go through the justice system in hopes of holding their traffickers accountable. We look at Daytona 500 developments with Erik Tomas of Raceline Radio. The votes are in from Parliament on the government's use of the Emergency Measures Act with 185 in favour of and 151 against. We should not overlook the support that has been shown for the protests in Ottawa and at the border, nor should we ignore why there has been support. The Canadian Civil Liberties Association is challenging the use of the Emergencies Act. In a recent piece for the Toronto Sun, Stephen LeDrew says that Justin Trudeau has brought Canada to its tipping point. What is next? Russia has recognized the separatist regions of Ukraine… what does that mean and why is that putting other countries on edge?
