Colossians 3:1-11 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. It's not that hard to think back to what we once were. It's also not that hard to look forward to a better version of ourselves. The hard thing is to become the person Christ has created us to be in him. So many things hold us back from our old friends, to our old habits, it's just not that easy to lay the old version of ourselves to rest. It's a funeral we struggle to arrange, and yet until it's a funeral that we have to go through.
