According to the Wikipedia page entitled, The Lipka Tatars, the Mongol Empire was the largest contiguous empire in the history of the world. Some descendants of the Mongol Empire settled in Lithuania and were known as the Lipka Tatars. Since 1569 the Tatars have contributed to every significant Lithuanian military campaign. Probably the most famous Lipka Tatar was the silver screen actor Charles Bronson. Because of his dark skin he was often cast in the role of either a Mexican-American or Native American. Today, you can still see the Mongol influence in the faces of many Lithuanians.
