In an era where NCAA student-athletes are being given a bigger voice in the process of shaping the future of college athletics, James Gehrels is in the right place at the right time. The senior on the Pepperdine men's volleyball team, who aspires to become an athletic director one day, is a member of the Division I national SAAC and is playing a major part in determining policies regarding student-athlete time demands.
