On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Gene Wilhelm spoke in the first segment with Fr. Greg Gerhart, Vocations Director for the Diocese of Austin. Fr. Greg gave us an update on priestly ordinations this summer and some of the official steps that men who think they might have a call to Holy Orders can take to discern their call properly. In the main segment, RED-C Catholic Radio was honored to have in the studio, Fr. John McManamon, S.J., a Jesuit priest, historian, and nautical archaeologist. He began by telling us about his call to the priesthood and why he was drawn specifically to the Society of Jesus. We got to hear about his academic pursuits, including earning a Ph.D. in Renaissance history from the prestigious program at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Fr.
