Jack Kassewitz is president of Global Heart, Inc., a nonprofit organization that he cofounded in 2001 with his wife, Donna. He currently focuses primarily on Speak Dolphin: Dolphin Communication Research (http://speakdolphin.com/), a project devoted to significantly expanding communication between humans and dolphins. Jack’s passion for this research has propelled him to seek cutting-edge technology for recording these highly intelligent cetaceans in the broadest spectrum and highest definition possible.   A lifelong percussionist, Jack’s musical experience led him to the first breakthrough in his research—the discovery of complex musical forms within dolphin vocalizations. Although these “songs” are too complex for the human ear to apprehend without the aid of technology, Jack engaged graduate-level music students from the University of Miami in performing the songs on instruments such as guitar and piano. This allows us to appreciate the beauty and sophistication of the dolphin’s melodic compositions.   Jac
