It's terror time again! And "Scooby Doo! Return to Zombie Island" is a terrifying sight. A "sequel" that retcons the original movie to fit a new narrative that continues the continuity of the previous Scooby Doo movie "Curse of the 13th Ghost". Needless to say, it reaches none of the standards set by the original movie "Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. I don't know what I expected but I'm upset with the results this movie delivered. A weak, half baked sequel riding the coat tails of the superior original movie. It feels like they are trying to use humor to hide the fact they are coming with a lackluster product. Instead of a soft reboot sequel that changes characters, motivations and revelations they could have made a wholly original Scooby Doo movie that got them to whatever continuity they wanted without besmirching the original.
