Welcome to Flex Your Heart Radio! This podcast is about body, fat and gender positivity, fitness, feminism, recovery, risk, and crushing it at life. On this episode, we talk to powerlifter, mother, and all around bad ass, Cassie Haynes! Cassie lives in Philly with her wife, 2 yr old daughter, and 2 dogs. She has a BFA in theater from Pace University School of Performing Arts, a masters in public health from Tufts University School of Medicine, and a JD from Northeastern University School of Law. Currently she works as the Executive Director of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the global governing body of the sport of roller derby. Cassie is also a prolific powerlifter, and she holds EIGHT PA state records across 2 weight classes. She is competing in IPF World Powerlifting Championships this November!
