On September 11, 2001, the world watched as one by one, planes careened into the Twin Towers in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. as well as a field just outside of Shanksville Pennsylvania--taking the lives of nearly 3,000 people.In this episode of Innovating America, we sit down with former Governor Tom Ridge, who now serves as a member of alliantgroup’s Strategic Advisory Board, about his experience with this national tragedy, and how it ultimately led him on a path to becoming our country’s very first Secretary of Homeland Security—building the department from the ground up.
