In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul talked about spiritual gifts in terms of “now” and “then.” He mentioned how certain gifts were operating “now”–in his own day and time. But then He anticipated a time that would come later (aka “then”), when certain spiritual gifts (namely prophecy, tongues, and knowledge) would pass away. An important question for us to ask as we read Paul’s writings about spiritual gifts is: do we live in the “now” that he was describing or the “then” that he was anticipating? How we answer that question has significant implications for how we think about certain spiritual gifts. Listen to this sermon to hear Pastor Marc ask, and answer, that question from Scripture.
