Rene Paulesich is the Global Alliance Lead for UUUM, one of Japan’s leading digital entertainment companies. Prior to joining UUUM, Rene worked in localization for major game publishers Square Enix and Nintendo in Europe, before making his way to Japan to join a small studio where he could be more involved in the game development process. In this episode, Rene and I discuss the Japanese video market and his role in fostering international partnerships for UUUM. Rene offers insight into Japan’s fascination with YouTube and Twitter, though Facebook, live streaming, esports, and SVOD / OTT have yet to garner much popularity like they have in North America and other parts of APAC.
