Beitz, Ph.D., RN, CS, CNOR, CWOCN-AP, CRNP, MAPWCA, ANEF, FNAP, FAAN, as they speak about their session from WOCNext 2020 Reimagined titled, “Critical Connections: Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Adult Chronic Illness and WOC Nursing”. Rebecca and Janice explain the science of ACEs, answer audience questions from their live session, and share advice on helping patients through their ACEs. Their session from WOCNext 2020 Reimagined focused on the science of ACEs, specifically scrutinizing neuroscience, epigenetics, and resilience factors from the perspective of the WOC nurse. This session also identified the significant gap in the scientific literature in this milieu and called for research to better understand critical connections among ACEs, adult chronic illness, and skin, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary manifestations.Want to learn more?
