Many farm animals, including horses, are subjected to the slaughterhouses globally, Gene has witnessed first hand the horrific treatment the animals suffer. Gene founded Farm Sanctuary in 1986 to save animals from this horrific abuse and since advocates for them, is a Vegan and has changed legislation, plus he is the author of two books: Living the Farm Sanctuary Life; and Farm Sanctuary: Changing hearts and minds about Animals and food.
