HAIDT : HAPPINESS:

Informações:

Synopsis

I’m reading a book, called the Happiness Hypothesis by Haidt.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ It says that happiness isn’t something we ever have, not permanently. Physiologically it’s more of something that can happen by outlining aims. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ This is the way the brain is working. We set an aim, a big aim, and then every step we take towards that aim - the brain releases joy, and satisfaction.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ My aim is mental and physical mastery. So every step that I take towards that, fills me up daily with contentment and joy. The spaces in between that, I empty my mind. ⁣⁣⁣ Every time I make tea, or do a pushup, or eat my one meal ... I believe it is progress, and that satisfies me. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Most people do not have good aims, and I don’t believe they know how to take the steps towards that aim, and they also don’t seem to understand - that aims should be ‘beyond’ achieving. Because people do not like to win, they like to try to win.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We love the journey, to which we are the creators. #nomadic #mentality ⁣⁣
