Future Remains Exciting for the Royal Welsh

Informações:

Synopsis

There are some challenging times ahead as many units in the Army prepare for big changes as part of the Armed Forces 2020 plan. Among those affected is Tidworth and Chester based 2nd and 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh as they prepare to officially merge to become one this April. The two Battalions were formed nine years ago after the amalgamation of The Royal Regiment of Wales and the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, but despite more change with one of the battalions disappearing, its Commander says the future remains exciting for the new formation. So far a total of 270 soldiers have now moved in to Tidworth Garrison from Chester. BFBS Reporter Shirley Swain has been in conversation with 2 Royal Welsh’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Barry who speaks positively about the future.
