Synopsis

There has been plenty of controversy surrounding the Australian cricket team but ex-Test legend Merv Hughes doesn't think it the situation is bad as it is made out to be as the Aussies prepare for their first Test of the summer against India this week. " Things aren’t that bad. You take the two best batsman out of any team and it’s going to have an affect." Hughes made 53 Tests for Australia and offered his team selection. "You reckon the bottom five pick themselves unless there’s an injury, it’s going to be (Mitchell) Starc, (Pat) Cummings, (Josh) Hazlewood, (Nathan) Lyon, and Tim Paine. Hughes also said that he predicts Usman Khawaja, and Mitchell and Shaun Marsh to play, they'll be under a bit of pressure. "The pressure on not having Warner and Smith is going to be immense and it’s time for them to repay the faith." Hughes also spoke about his famous mustache, Michael Clarke's recent comments on Macquarie Sports Radio, and whether sledging still has a place in the game.
