Abraham and Sarah demonstrate faith by believing in the promise of God which in turn results in God crediting it as righteousness. God’s system is not the same as that of the world. Faith is the way of God, not works. Christian faith is believing in a person – Jesus of Nazareth. God takes the initiative and we simply respond.
