He has a graduate degree from Humboldt State University, Arcata, California, and more than 25 years as a researcher, analyst and educator. Professor Hayes has conducted research at Stanford's Hopkins Marine Station and developed educational material for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He has served as the senior analyst for the nation’s largest water reclamation project.
