We needed to be watching out for danger, in order to survive. But now, what purpose does it serve? Why do we feel like the world is out to get us and we have to take care of everything ourselves? We’ve all been a helping-hand at one point or another: helping someone with a last minute deadline, or carrying boxes of books down stairs to help someone move. Sure, it might not be an ideal use of your time, but generally, it feels good — even fulfilling — to help a friend out. Knowing that, why do we find it so hard to ask for a favour?
