Our team is comprised of farmers, seed breeders and traders applying the principals of grass roots economics to expand hemp opportunities for rural American farmers. Third Wave's competitive advantages start with our team, our process and our hands on experience growing this amazing crop.  Pioneers In 2014 Mike Lewis and a team of fellow Veterans were amongst the first Americans to legally farm hemp in the U.S. since its prohibition in the 1970's. Hemp provided the veterans in Kentucky the opportunity to connect back to the land they defended and grow a crop with hundreds of different applications in food, fiber and medicine.  Thirty-nine (39) states have now defined industrial hemp as distinct from Marijuana and removed barriers to its production. 19
