Last week we focused upon the plight of God's people in Egypt; “gloom, despair and misery”. This morning we will explore the birth of a savior; a savior for the nation of Israel, as well as a Savior for the world. In this context we will discover the “sovereignty of God in saving His people”. Remember God is proactively engaged in all the circumstances that would bring about the deliverance of His people. As we did last week, we will seek to examine the historical narrative and make a few theological applications pertaining to the sovereignty of God in saving His people.
