Have you ever thought of just how hard it is to fit in as a teenager…to be cool…to have romantic relationships? Now think about how hard it must be to be an American teenage Muslim boy. John O’Brien spent three-and-a-half years of intensive fieldwork in and around a large urban mosque working to figure that out. And what he found was typical Muslim American teenage boys concerned with typical American teenage issues, but these boys were also expected to be good, practicing Muslims.
