Today I want to talk to you about pain—because I’m in it! Here’s a little context. Earlier this year, in the spring, I realized I needed to get to the gym. When I was a teenage, I really enjoyed lifting weight. Then life happened. I got busy jobs and eventually started my own company, and I lost the enjoyment of going to the gym. This year, I decided that whether or not I liked it, I needed it. So I started going. I went three to five times a week to lift eights, and I actually started liking it. I rediscovered the enjoyment I had experienced in my teens and early twenties: lifting a lot of weight, feeling good, and getting healthier. Then, in July of this year, I tore my chest muscle and part of my bicep during a bench press. That was just over two months ago. It was an enormous amount of pain, and I’m still in pain to a degree.
